Who we are

UnpackFi provides software that helps small business owners understand their own financial information. This policy explains what we collect when you use unpackfi.com and the UnpackFi application, why we collect it, and how you can control it.

Information we collect

Account information: your name, email address, business name and industry, and the password credential managed by our authentication provider.

Business financial information: the reports, statements, schedules, payroll summaries and figures you upload or enter, along with the values we derive from them.

Billing information: subscription status, renewal dates and payment outcomes. Card numbers are collected and stored by our payment processor, Stripe. UnpackFi never receives or stores raw card numbers.

Usage information: basic technical logs such as pages requested, browser type, approximate location derived from IP address, and error diagnostics used to keep the service working.

How we use it

We use your information to operate your account, produce your dashboards, reports, forecasts and Sidekick answers, process your subscription, provide support, send service-related email, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell your information, and we do not use your business financial information for advertising.

Automated features and AI

Some features use automated processing and third-party AI models to read documents you upload and to generate plain-English explanations. Content sent to these providers is used only to return results to you and is not used by us to train public models.

Who we share it with

We share information only with service providers that help us run UnpackFi — hosting and database infrastructure, authentication, email delivery, payment processing and AI processing — each bound to use it solely to provide their service to us. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

Security

Your information is stored privately against your account, protected in transit with encryption, and access-controlled so that it is visible only to you and anyone you invite to your business. Access to production systems is limited to personnel who need it.

Retention and deletion

If you cancel, we keep your history so you can resume where you left off if you return. You can request permanent deletion of your business data and account at any time from your account settings or by emailing us; we complete deletion requests within 30 days, except for records we must retain for tax, accounting or legal purposes.

Your choices and rights

You can access, correct, export or delete your information, object to certain processing, and unsubscribe from non-essential email. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA/CPRA. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Children

UnpackFi is intended for business use by adults and is not directed to anyone under 16.
