Privacy & Security
Your business data is protected using modern security practices, including secure authentication, encrypted connections, and access controls designed to keep each business’s information private.
How your data is protected
- Secure account authentication. Every request is verified on our servers before any of your information is returned. Your account is protected by a secure sign-in.
- Database-level access controls. Access rules are enforced by the database itself, not just by the app, so your numbers and documents can only be read by people you have added to your business.
- Business-level data isolation. Each business’s information is kept separate. If your account contains more than one business, the data for one business is never mixed with another.
- Private document storage. Documents you upload are stored in private storage and are never publicly accessible. They have no shareable public link.
- Temporary, expiring links. When you open one of your own uploaded files, we create a short-lived, expiring link just for you. There is no permanent public address for your documents.
- Encryption in transit. All information is encrypted while it travels between your device and UnpackFi.
- Encryption at rest. Your information is encrypted while stored, through the managed database and storage platform we run on.
- Read-only, logged, expiring Support View. When you ask us for help, a member of the UnpackFi team can open a read-only view of your account. Support sessions expire automatically, cannot change your data, and are recorded.
- Payments handled by Stripe. Billing is processed by Stripe, which receives billing details only — never your financial statements.
- AI features. Some features, such as the plain-English assistant, securely process limited financial summaries or the text of documents you upload through our AI provider in order to provide those features.
What we don’t claim
UnpackFi does not claim certifications such as SOC 2, ISO, or PCI. If we obtain such certifications in the future, we will update this page to reflect what has actually been achieved.
